Science Bar “Can neuroscience help education?”
This event has passed!
LIVE on the UM YouTube channel.
Thanks to discoveries in neuroscience, it is now easier to analyze the mechanisms of the brain and how we process and store information. Among other things, these discoveries make it possible to refine learning methods tailored to children with the aim of helping students succeed in school.
However, neuropedagogy raises many questions among teachers and parents, including:
- What is the actual contribution of neuroscience to education?
- Do cognitive sciences provide teachers with the keys to changing teaching practices so that every student can take control of their learning and success?
- How can we reconcile knowledge in neuroscience with the diversity of learning styles?
To discuss this topic, this Science Bar brings together three speakers:
- Gina Devau, Doctor of Neuroscience, Associate Professor at the Faculty of Science, University of Montpellier. President of the Comédie des neurones.
- Bénédicte Gendron, Doctor of Psychology and Neuropsychology, University Professor of Education Sciences at Paul Valéry University.
- Nicolas Saby, Doctor of Mathematics, Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Science, University of Montpellier, Director of the Department of Science Education and Research on Teaching.
