Science Bar: “How has COVID-19 changed things for you? Adjustments, transitions, changes”

The Science Bar is back with its 2021 season, streaming live on UM’s YouTube channel.
The Bar des sciences kicks off its new season with a science and society topic that is more relevant than ever. With a rich and varied lineup, it offers eight events open to everyone, all available for on-demand viewing.
The first Science Bar will take place on Thursday, January 28, at 7:00 p.m., with the theme: “How has COVID-19 changed your life? Adaptations, transitions, changes.”
COVID-19: A Pandemic That Challenges Everything
Nothing is the same as it used to be. The global coronavirus health crisis has caused an almost complete upheaval, and the acute crisis we are currently experiencing is a major shock to society.
Lockdowns, curfews, activity restrictions, remote work, childcare… The emergence and widespread impact of COVID-19 in our lives has required us to adapt, brought about transitions, and led to profound changes. The social impacts are numerous and varied, and some are likely to be long-lasting.
To discuss this topic, four experts from various fields will come together and answer questions live from the online audience:
- Marie-Christine Lichtle, Director of Montpellier Management – University of Montpellier. Faculty member and researcher at the Montpellier Research Management ( MRM) Laboratory. University professor of management sciences (specializing in marketing), with expertise in social marketing, communication, and consumer behavior.
- Salim Mokaddem, philosopher, Professor Interdisciplinary Laboratory for Research Didactics, Education, and Training (LIRDEF) – University of Montpellier – Paul Valéry University Montpellier 3. Professor of Philosophy. Member of the French Philosophical Society.
- Stéphane Raffard, Ph.D. in Psychology, Professor of Cognitive Psychopathology and Neuropsychology at Paul Valéry University Montpellier 3. Clinical psychologist in the adult psychiatry department at Montpellier University Hospital.
- Bertrand Vidal, sociologist and researcher at the Laboratory for Interdisciplinary Studies on Reality and Social Imaginaries (LEIRIS). Associate professor at Paul Valéry University Montpellier 3.
