The definition of masculinity varies according to era, culture, and social context. However, masculinity still culturally defines a man's worth and represents a set of qualities such as firmness, courage, power, strength, vigor, etc., attributed to adult men.

At a time when the boundaries between masculine and feminine are blurring, the meaning of masculinity is being widely questioned: how can we conceive of and experience it today, considering the interplay between the natural and the cultural?

To discuss this topic of science and society, a range of multidisciplinary experts will answer questions from the audience live:

  • Françoise Paris, University Professor, Hospital Practitioner at Montpellier University Hospital, Department of Pediatric Endocrinology – Department of Molecular Biology of Genital Development Variations (DevGen), Director of the INSERM – DEFE (Embryonic Development, Fertility, and Environment) Research Unit;
  • Marion Polge, Associate Professor at Montpellier Management (University of Montpellier), Director of CoCréa’ (Chair of Studies and Research on Human Issues in Business – University of Montpellier Foundation);
  • Maxime Potard, artist and author whose work questions the concept of masculinity.
