The definition of virility varies according to time, culture and social context. However, virility is still culturally a man's value, and represents a set of qualities such as firmness, courage, power, strength, vigor... attributed to the adult male.

At a time when the boundaries between masculine and feminine are becoming increasingly blurred, the meaning of virility is being widely questioned: how can we think about it and live it today, by considering an articulation of the natural and the cultural?

A range of multidisciplinary experts will be on hand to answer questions from the public:

  • Françoise Paris, University Professor, hospital practitioner at Montpellier University Hospital, Department of Pediatric Endocrinology - Department of Molecular Biology of Genital Development Variations (DevGen), Director of the INSERM DEFE (Développement Embryonnaire, Fertilité et Environnement) research unit;
  • Marion Polge, Senior Lecturer at Montpellier Management (University of Montpellier), Director of CoCréa' (Chair for studies and research on human issues in business - University of Montpellier Foundation);
  • Maxime Potard, artist-author whose work questions the concept of virility.
