Charlie Hebdo: 10 years on, what now?
This event has passed!
In the presence of the editorial staff of Charlie Hebdo, the University of Montpellier and Génération Charlie invite you to a conference with the editorial staff of Charlie Hebdo on March 27, 2025, starting at 6 p.m.

On January 7, 2015, a terrorist attack was carried out against the editorial staff of the satirical newspaper Charlie Hebdo, targeting freedom of expression.
Ten years later, while 76% of French people consider freedom of expression to be a fundamental right, a third of young people under the age of 35 support the idea that you cannot say or caricature anything under its cover (Jean-Jaurès Foundation/IFOP survey). Because freedom of expression is a pillar of our democracy and in order to debate it, we felt it was important to welcome the Génération Charlie association, which is organizing a series of conferences in high schools and universities to commemorate the tenth anniversary of the attack on January 7, 2015.
This meeting will be an opportunity for students and staff at the University of Montpellier to discuss the values and legacy of Charlie Hebdo with the weekly magazine's editorial team.
Access to the conference room will be granted from 5:15 p.m. and requires registration by March 24 at the latest. Proof of registration must be presented upon arrival, along with a valid ID. Access will be denied if no ID is presented.
