Charlie Hebdo: 10 years and now?
This event is over!
In the presence of the Charlie Hebdo editorial team, theUniversity of Montpellier and Génération Charlie invite you to a conference with the Charlie Hebdo editorial team, on March 27, 2025, starting at 6pm.

On January 7, 2015, a terrorist attack was perpetrated against the editorial offices of the satirical newspaper Charlie Hebdo, targeting freedom of expression in the process.
Ten years on, while 76% of French people consider freedom of expression to be a fundamental right, a third of young people under the age of 35 support the idea that you can't say and caricature just anything under cover (Fondation Jean-Jaurès / IFOP poll). Because freedom of expression is a pillar of our democracy and to debate it, we felt it important to welcome the Génération Charlie association, which is organizing a series of conferences in high schools and universities to commemorate the tenth anniversary of the January 7, 2015 attack.
This meeting will be an opportunity for students and staff from the University of Montpellier to discuss the values and legacy of Charlie Hebdo with the weekly's editorial team.
Access to the conference room starts at 5.15pm, and requires registration by 24/03 at the latest. Proof of registration and identity must be presented on arrival. Access will be refused without proof of identity.
