Mediator, marketed in 1976 for the treatment of diabetes but widely misused as an appetite suppressant, was widely prescribed in France and around the world. Withdrawn from the market in 2009 after a link with heart damage and pulmonary arterial hypertension was established by pulmonologist Irène Frachon, a lengthy trial ensued, with the appeal verdict handed down a few months ago.

The journey of Irène FRACHON, as a whistleblower and stakeholder in this lengthy process, is the subject of a feature film that traces the ins and outs of this extraordinary health and legal saga.
