For more than 1,000 years, from 2500 to 1200 BCE, from the Fifth Dynasty to the Twentieth, the Egyptians undertook maritime expeditions to the land of Punt to obtain spices, particularly myrrh (Commiphora myrrha). For what purpose? And, above all, where is this region that Egyptologists have struggled to pinpoint on a map?
