Euro-Mediterranean Conference on Wastewater Reuse (REUSE EUROMED 2024)

  • Category: Conference
  • Dates: October 29-31, 2024
  • Hours: From 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
  • Location: Montpellier , ENSCM School of Chemistry - 240 Avenue du Professeur Émile Jeanbrau, 34296 Montpellier

Water needs are evolving around the Mediterranean and in Europe, impacted by climate change. "Non-conventional" wastewater, crucial and often underutilized, requires careful reuse due to its environmental implications.

With a multidisciplinary and multi-stakeholder approach, the REUSE EUROMED 2024 conference, co-organized by AFEID, the INRAE REUSE Network and the EACC Chair, aims to foster exchanges and create a meeting place for:

  •  to share feedback (successes and failures) on methodological approaches related to the design, operationalization and evaluation of REUSE projects;
  • identify the main socio-economic, regulatory, scientific, technical and technological barriers to all available tools;
  • to contribute to structuring future R&I projects to better meet the needs on the ground;
  • to create new opportunities for collaboration and strengthen networking.

The main topics that will be discussed are:

  • governance of REUSE;
  • REUSE for agriculture;
  • health and environmental risks;
  • water treatment processes for REUSE;
  • feedback from local authorities.

The program includes various formats for exchanges: plenary and thematic presentations, round tables, pitches of innovative solutions (company stands), posters with a trophy for the best poster and, on request, there will also be the possibility of "B2B" meetings between REUSE actors.

The program is being finalized and a draft version will soon be available online.
