Euro-Mediterranean Conference on Wastewater Reuse (REUSE EUROMED 2024)

  • Category: Conference
  • Dates: October 29–31, 2024
  • Hours: From 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
  • Location: Montpellier , ENSCM School of Chemistry - 240 Avenue du Professeur Émile Jeanbrau, 34296 Montpellier

Water needs are changing across the Mediterranean region and Europe, driven by climate change. “Non-conventional” wastewater—a crucial yet often underutilized resource—requires careful reuse due to its environmental implications.

Taking a multidisciplinary and multi-stakeholder approach, the REUSE EUROMED 2024 conference , co-organized by AFEID,INRAE’sREUSE Network, and the EACC Chair, aims to foster dialogue and create a forum for:

  •  share feedback (both successes and failures) on methodological approaches related to the design, implementation, and evaluation of REUSE projects;
  • identify the main socio-economic, regulatory, scientific, technical, and technological barriers associated with all available tools;
  • help shape future R&I projects to better meet the needs of the field;
  • create new opportunities for collaboration and strengthen networking.

The main topics to be discussed are:

  • REUSE governance;
  • REUSE for agriculture;
  • health and environmental risks;
  • water treatment processes for reuse;
  • feedback from local governments.

The program includes a variety of discussion formats: plenary and thematic presentations, roundtables, pitches for innovative solutions (company booths), poster sessions with an award for the best poster, and, upon request, there will also be opportunities for B2B meetings among REUSE stakeholders.

The program is currently being finalized, and a draft version will soon be available online.
