COP25, which took place in December 2019, confirmed the slowdown in climate ambition. Despite two weeks of negotiations, the States were unable to agree to raise their ambitions before COP26 and to define the rules of the carbon market. However, the effects of climate change, notably the increase in extreme events, are already there, and will grow if nothing is done, according to the latest report by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).

Jean-Marc Jancovici, an engineer from the École Polytechnique, a world-renowned figure in the energy transition, one of the founding fathers of the carbon footprint, founding chairman of The Shift Project, and appointed by the French government to the High Council for Climate Action (HCAC), will explain the concept of carbon constraint, the issues at stake in today's world, and the possible solutions available to us to meet current and future societal and environmental challenges.

The lecture will be given live by Mr. Jancovici in the Peytavin amphitheater (for first-time registrants, subject to availability) and broadcast live in rooms SC001 and SC002 (for the remaining audience).

As capacity is limited, please bring your digital or paper registration ticket for security reasons.
