School of Economics, Richter Campus, Lecture Hall C001.

As part of the “Rendez-vous de l’Eco” series, the Faculty of Economics, in partnership with Midi Libre, is hosting a conference on the topic: “Inflation: Are We Heading Toward a Lasting Return to Inflation?”

“The resurgence of inflation observed in France and around the world has been fueled by recent health and geopolitical disruptions. It is further exacerbated by the consequences of the climate transition and its impact on the scarcity and rising costs of raw materials, as well as by supply chain disruptions stemming from the health crisis. Under these conditions, is the return of inflation cyclical in nature, or, on the contrary, is it taking on a more structural character? ”
To address this question, our speaker, Bruno CABRILLAC, Deputy Director General for Statistics, Research, and International Affairs at the Banque de France, will analyze the causes of current inflation and the outlook for its development in the short and medium term.”
