Science and interventional research make non-pharmacological interventions (NPIs) essential solutions for preventing, treating, or curing health problems.
In terms of prevention, they reduce the risk of disease and bring about lasting improvements in health behaviors. In terms of treatment, they alleviate symptoms, improve health, and enhance quality of life. In terms of therapy, they complement biological treatments. Studies show that they reduce unplanned healthcare costs and out-of-pocket expenses for patients.
This conference, created in Montpellier, allows participants to:
- promote scientifically validated NIMs;
- share evidence of the effectiveness, safety, and cost-effectiveness of each NIM;
- discuss evaluation methods;
- better understand their mechanisms of action;
- promote the improvement of professional practices;
- think about training, certification, and financing for the future;
- to meet researchers and practitioners specializing in the INM sector.
Thursday, March 28, 2019, will be devoted to plenary lectures and posters in French and English on methods for evaluating NIMs.
Friday, March 29, 2019, will be dedicated to presenting the results of studies evaluating INMs through oral presentations and posters in French and English.
Saturday, March 30, 2019, will feature roundtable discussions and professional workshops on best clinical and scientific practices in the NIM sector.
Three conferences open to the public will be held on Thursday, March 28, and Friday, March 29, 2019, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
