"Coup de projecteur sur la biodiversité (in)visible" is a series of 3 traveling exhibitions designed and produced by students at the University of Montpellier under the direction of Frédérique Carcaillet, a teacher-researcher at the University of Montpellier, head of the Biodiversity Communication and Education course in the Environmental Management master's program and head of the NaturCom chair at the UM Foundation.

The first exhibition, "Biodiversité cachée" ("Hidden Biodiversity"), is currently on display at the Maison Départementale de l'Environnement in the Domaine de Restinclières, Prades le Lez, until December 30, 2022. Thereafter, it will tour throughout Occitania.

This first exhibition takes visitors on a journey of discovery of living beings, often far from their eyes, hidden in the night, in living beings, at the bottom of the oceans or even in the clouds!

The exhibition includes explanatory panels, a variety of museographic features and video testimonials from various players involved in the knowledge and protection of biodiversity. An educational tool for high-school students has also been designed and made available to teachers to accompany them on their visit to the exhibition.

Various partners have made this first exhibition possible: University of Montpellier, University of Montpellier Foundation, Occitanie Region, Banque Populaire du Sud, UMR MARBEC, CeMEB, CNRS, IRD, Ifremer, Andromède Océanologie, Gombessa Expeditions.
