February, the month of love! Why not share a little of your heart by donating blood?

One hour of your time = three lives saved—an appointment not to be missed!

Our goal? To reach 300 donations per day in the Hérault and Gard departments. Together, let's make this a month of solidarity!

Donating blood contributes to the healthcare system and helps many patients every year. This can be in cases of cancer, blood diseases, significant bleeding during surgery, or even childbirth.

But donating blood is also a very convivial experience, because we are all in the same frame of mind: united, bound together by this desire to help others, to take action, to contribute to something important.

Together, we have the power to make a difference, so come along and join us.

What you should know before donating:

  • feel healthy;
  • be between 18 and 70 years old;
  • weigh at least 50 kg;
  • have photo identification;
  • not having received a blood transfusion;
  • and, on site, be deemed eligible during the pre-donation interview.

Before traveling, remember to takethe online teston the EFS website to find out if you are affected by any contraindications.

From arrival to departure, allow between 45 minutes and 1 hour(don't worry, the donation itself only takes 10 minutes on average). Please note that it is best to eat beforehand and stay well hydrated throughout the donation process.

In the following cases, donations must be deferred by:

  • 24 hours after cavity treatment or scaling;
  • 7 days after completing a course of antibiotics;
  • 14 days after an infectious episode;
  • 4 months after an endoscopy, piercing, or tattoo;
  • Four months after traveling to a country where malaria is prevalent.

In order to promote community spirit, the EFS has created a Facebook group dedicated to donors in Montpellier and the Hérault region:Don de sang Montpellier, Béziers & co | Facebook
