Exhibition: “Strange Animals?”
This event has already taken place!
Exhibition by Rosa Mourlam, a scientist-artist, and Maëva Orliac, a paleontologist at ISEM.
Opening reception on Friday, October 5, 2018, at 1:00 p.m.
Science Library, Triolet Campus – Place Eugène Bataillon, 34095 Montpellier.
Just as a scientist’s study of extinct specimens is inseparable from the illustrations that bring them to life, Rosa Mourlam set out to depict the creatures that inhabited southwestern France more than 20 million years ago, long before the appearance of humans.
“At that time, Europe was home to strange animals—large and small, adorable or frightening—relatives of species we know today, or those that have gone extinct without leaving any descendants. Through an artistic and scientific lens, you can come discover these animals of the past and their environment.”
Rosa Mourlam
