NounOURS exhibition - Peluchology
A version brought up to date by the team of mediators from the Peluchologie project. The exhibition invites young and old alike to delve into the world of teddy bears through a scientific and historical lens.

Organized by the Médiathèque Émile Zola, as part of the partnership between Montpellier Méditerranée Métropole (3M) and the University of Montpellier, which has been awarded the Science with and for Society (SAPS) label.
An exhibition that plunges visitors into the imaginary world of bears
The bear is a mythical animal to which humans have always attached great importance. The object of legends, feared or adored, praised or demonized, the bear is symbolically deeply rooted in our Western societies.
Designed by the University's scientific culture department, this travelling exhibition pays tribute to the ancient king of animals, from prehistory to the teddy bear. It is structured around three themes:
- bears in the wild: a selection of objects and osteological items to discover the great diversity of bears past and present;
- Bears in literature: a wealth of books exploring the various representations of the animal in Western culture (children's albums, novels, comics, classic texts, etc.);
- teddy bears: a collection of teddy bears of all shapes and colors to introduce you to the scientific approach to classification and become a teddy bear expert.
The "NounOURS - Peluchologie" exhibition will also be held :
- at the Albert Camus multimedia library (Marmande) from December 1, 2025 to January 4, 2026;
- at the La Réole media library in January and February 2026;
- to the Côte Landes Nature network (6 media libraries) from March to August 2026.
