Cin’éthique is a program initiated by medical students, the result of a collaboration between the Montpellier-Nîmes Faculty of Medicine and the Occitanie Center for Ethical Reflection. Its mission is to stimulate ethical reflection on health issues by comparing clinical reality with its artistic representation. Each themed session begins with a film screening, followed by an interdisciplinary discussion with several experts on the topic at hand.

Promise: a film by Thomas Hug De Larauze and Laurène Hug De Larauze (2025).

A true story. Laurène, 22, leaves behind a legacy of boundless zest for life despite her illness, as well as dozens of hours of video footage she had shot to share her story. No one had ever seen her footage, and she and her twin brother had promised to turn it into a film. Following in his sister’s footsteps, Thomas decides to delve into his own memories and those of his family to fulfill their promise.
