GECKO organizes its Summer School from June 28 to July 2, 2021
This event is over!
The European Erasmus+ capacity-building project GECKO (2017-2021) aims to improve engineering education in three partner countries: Thailand, Indonesia and the Philippines, through the exchange of best practices and enhanced regional cooperation.
The overall aim of the project is to improve the employability of engineering students by setting up innovative courses that meet the growing needs of the job market in terms of multi-skilling.
The "GECKO Challenge" is a 5-day virtual summer school during which teams of engineering students from 8 partner universities in Southeast Asia will have the opportunity to compete in an international environment to conceptualize an innovative engineering solution in response to a challenge linked to the Sustainable Development Goals, thus applying the knowledge acquired through the training modules developed as part of the GECKO project.
Three virtual events will be open to the public, during which each team will be introduced, report on the progress of its work, and finally present its innovation project in a pitch competition before a panel of jurors. Speakers from the business world will also be invited to give inspiring talks to participants.
- The opening program will take place on Monday, June 28, 2021 from 9:00 am to 10:30 am.
- The second mid-term meeting will take place on Wednesday June 30, 2021 from 9:00 to 10:15 am.
- Finally, the closing and prize-giving ceremony will take place on Friday, July 2, 2021 from 8:00 to 10:30 am.
- All three events, entirely in English, will take place via Zoom and will also be broadcast live on Facebook.
