Tribute to Pierre Bertholon (1741-1800), scholar and electrician of the Enlightenment

The morning session will be dedicated to Pierre Bertholon, who held the chair of experimental physics in the Languedoc states and was known in his day and in France as one of the leading physicists specializing in electricity. The afternoon will feature a number of presentations on current research in the field of electrostatics.

The event is organized by the "Alumni ONERA" association and the UM MIPS pole, in collaboration with the Paris and Montpellier Academies of Science, under the patronage of the French UNESCO Commission, and in partnership with the "Co-Working Channel" media, the "Association Aéronautique et Astronautique de France", the Montpellier "Histoire et Philosophie des Sciences" seminar and the Université du Tiers-Temps de Montpellier.
