Well-being in Education: How and Why?

As part of Brain Awareness Week.

The concepts of quality of life, well-being, and happiness are appearing with increasing frequency among the factors that guide citizens’ analyses and choices in many areas. In the field of education, these concepts are closely related and reflect the same need: that of personal fulfillment and self-actualization.
Today, well-being plays an important role not only in the discussions among parents and students themselves, but also in academic initiatives and the goals of innovative practices adopted by schools and teachers.
To discuss this science and society topic, four experts from various disciplines will answer questions from the audience live:
- Bénédicte Gendron
Ph.D. in Neuropsychopathology and Human Resources Development; Professor of Education Sciences at Paul Valéry Montpellier 3 University, Interdisciplinary Research Laboratory in Didactics, Education, and Training (LIRDEF).
- Nicolas Giraudeau
Doctor of Dental Surgery, hospital practitioner at the Montpellier University Hospital, associate professor at the University of Montpellier, president of the University of Montpellier Foundation, and coordinator of Montpellier Oral Health.
- Agnès Perrin-Doucey
Dean of the Faculty of Education (University of Montpellier), associate professor of French language and literature and literature pedagogy (Interdisciplinary Research Laboratory in Pedagogy, Education, and Training).
- Sabrina Suffren
Ph.D. in neuropsychology, graduate of the University of Montreal (Quebec, Canada). Temporary teaching and research assistant in developmental psychology at Paul Valéry Montpellier 3 University (Epsylon Psychology Laboratory).
