International Joint Programs

The Charm-EU alliance of European universities is launching a series of monthly webinars titled CHARM-ON to explore and share its innovative practices with all academic and administrative staff at its member universities. In October: Episode #2 on international joint programs.

This new monthly event provides an opportunity to bring together members of the academic community for a roundtable discussion and allow them to shed concrete light on practices aligned with Charm-EU’s pedagogical principles: challenge-based learning, mobility, interculturality, and more. The goal is to encourage participating staff to delve deeper into Charm-EU’s best practices and to take part in the training sessions offered throughout the year by the alliance of European universities.

On October 27, the webinar will highlight one of the Charm-EU alliance’s major achievements: joint international programs. These transnational degree programs integrate a variety of academic traditions, governance models, and cultures into a common, shared learning experience.

The goal is to explore the practical realities involved in the design, implementation, and sustainability of these programs: from accreditation to curriculum development, including student mobility, digital infrastructure, and intercultural collaboration. The event will feature a panel of guests, including Meritxell Chaves, Secretary General of Charm-EU; Gilles Subra, Charm-EU Program Officer; and Professor r at the University of Montpellier; Laia Alonso, an alumna of the Charm-EU joint master’s program and project assistant at the University of Barcelona (Spain), as well as Victor G. Mihucz, a professor at ELTE University in Budapest (Hungary) who is leading the creation of a joint master’s program in “Global Health” within the alliance.

This series takes place on the last Monday of every month at 1:00 p.m., providing a supportive space for dialogue where members of the Charm-EU community can share ideas, best practices, and personal experiences. The next webinar is in November.
