New forms of mobility pose a major environmental challenge for local authorities in a context where dependence on cars remains high, particularly for daily commutes.

The round table discussion on November 9, organized by the Montpellier Faculty of Economics in partnership with Midi Libre, entitled "Soft mobility in metropolitan areas: how can we accelerate the transition?" will facilitate an exchange between representatives of the three key pillars of this transition: local authorities, committed citizens, and innovative companies. The debates will focus on the support measures adopted by the Montpellier metropolitan area, offering a concrete overview of the actions taken to establish more environmentally friendly mobility in our regions.

Delving into the complex issues of urban planning, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and improving quality of life, the debate promises an in-depth exploration of the strategies put in place to create more sustainable cities. A true collective reflection, which will be moderated by Olivier BISCAYE, Editorial Director of Midi Libre.
