Sports Entrepreneurship Competition – STAPS – Bachelor's Degree – University of Montpellier

The My SportTech Challenge competition crowns the first cycle of sports management training for students atthe UFR STAPS (University of Montpellier). Second- and third-year bachelor's degree students put themselves in the shoes of entrepreneurs. They apply the concepts they have learned in management, entrepreneurship, marketing, financial analysis, and taxation in a cross-disciplinary manner. The teaching team, made up of academics and expert practitioners, works to provide project leaders with cross-disciplinary skills that can be translated into action.

Objectives

The event organized by the students puts them in an entrepreneurship competition to reward the best projects.

This competition aims to promote entrepreneurial spirit and group cohesion among young people by placing them in a quasi-real professional situation. At the same time, it aims to communicate to industry stakeholders the skills acquired in our training programs.

Actors involved in the challenge

All socio-economic actors involved in supporting business creation and in the sports sector will be able to discover new talents who are imagining the gems of tomorrow. Finally, athletes who are passionate about challenges and original ideas will be able to come and share in the creative spirit of our student athletes at the University of Montpellier.

Procedure

The competition will be held on the afternoon of April 18 at the Décathlon Odysseum site. Each group will have five minutes to pitch their idea, followed by five minutes of questions, in front of a jury of seven industry professionals who will award themed prizes to the winners.
Candidates will present sports tech-oriented entrepreneurial projects (connected objects, platforms, etc.) in teams of up to four students. They will have previously drafted a business plan to study the commercial and financial feasibility of their project and present a strategic and operational action plan.
