Engineers' Day 2024

In the frantic race for planetary exploration, the leading nations in the space race are competing with American initiatives such as NASA, SpaceX, and Blue Origin. At the same time, a booming economy is developing around new technologies—nanosatellites, micro-launchers, and data from satellite constellations in Earth orbit—forming what is known as “New Space,” a particularly dynamic sector of research and innovation that is largely unknown to the general public.

Through lectures and discussions led by renowned experts, you’ll meet the new players in space exploration—researchers, entrepreneurs, and educators—all of whom are passionate about the development of New Space in the Occitanie region.

From the CNES (the French space agency) and the training provided at the Montpellier University Space Center, to the innovative initiatives of startups supported by the European Space Agency’s incubator network, the BIC ESA, you’ll discover how these companies are preparing for the new challenges and opportunities in the rapidly growing space economy.
