A biographical drama by Joel Edgerton, 2018, runtime: 115 min
Jared Eamons, the son of a Baptist pastor in a small American town, is forced by his parents to undergo conversion therapy after coming out as gay. The screening will be followed by a discussion with:
– Pamela Diane Alexi, a survivor of conversion therapy, author of the autobiographical novel *Désobéir aux Dieux*(Disobeying the Gods), filmmaker, and member of the “Rien à guérir” collective.
– Mattéo Garguilo, co-president of the association “ACT (Against Conversion Therapy)”, which launched the European citizens’ initiative “Ban on conversion practices in the European Union”, which gathered over one million signatures.
University libraries will be on hand before and after the screening, offering a themed selection of books available for loan.
