The animated short film “The End Justifies the Means” is the result of a collaboration between students at the Objectif 3D animation school, comic book artist PtiLuc, and the cast of the GAARAnti research project funded by the ANR. It will be previewed at the meeting in Montpellier that will bring together stakeholders and partners from the ANR GAARAnti project (July 1–3, 2019).
This project, coordinated by Philippe Münch (Géosciences Montpellier), Pierre-Olivier Antoine (ISEM), and Boris Marcaillou (GéoAzur), arose from the desire of researchers from disciplines as varied as geophysicists, field geologists, paleontologists, and geneticists, to pool their expertise in order to test the hypothesis that land bridges between the South American continent and the Caribbean islands may have allowed the migration of “rats” that grew to giant size (Amblyrhiza inundata) and are now extinct.
