What is the role of work today?
This event has passed!

When surveyed in 1990, 92% of French people considered work to be "important in their lives." Thirty-three years later, this is no longer so obvious: work has lost its prestige, and French people are more willing to put their professional activities on the back burner.
Hybrid working, the search for meaning, a better work-life balance... The world of work has been undergoing profound change for several decades, and this movement has accelerated over the last two years against the backdrop of an unprecedented health crisis.
To discuss this topic of science and society, three multidisciplinary experts will answer questions from the audience live:
- Loïc Douyère – Associate Director – Florian Mantione Institute (Human resources consulting firm);
- Marion Polge – Senior Lecturer, Deputy Director in charge of corporate relations and partnerships at Montpellier Management, Director of the Cocréa Chair (University of Montpellier);
- Amal Qobaa – Student Vice President of the University of Montpellier.
The Science Bar has become one of Montpellier's flagship scientific culture events, offering a monthly participatory debate for citizens on all aspects of science from January to June. Throughout the season, scientists are invited to engage in a dialogue where their knowledge and practices are shared, but can also be discussed.
The season is co-produced by the scientific culture departments of the University of Montpellier and its partners: INRAE, INSERM, and IRD.
