What is the place of work today?
This event is over!
Questioned in 1990, 92% of French people considered work "important in their lives". Thirty-three years on, the situation is less clear-cut: work has lost some of its superbness, and the French are more willing to put their professional activity in second place.
Hybrid work, the quest for meaning, better reconciliation of professional and personal lives... The world of work has been in the throes of change for several decades, and this trend has accelerated over the past two years against the backdrop of an unprecedented health crisis.
To discuss this science and society topic, three multidisciplinary experts will be on hand to answer questions from the audience:
- Loïc Douyère - Associate Director - Florian Mantione Institut (Human resources consulting firm) ;
- Marion Polge - Senior Lecturer, Deputy Director in charge of corporate relations and partnerships at Montpellier Management, Director of the Cocréa Chair (University of Montpellier) ;
- Amal Qobaa - Student Vice-President of the University of Montpellier.
The Bar des sciences has become one of Montpellier's flagship events for scientific culture, offering once a month, from January to June, a participatory and civic debate on all aspects of science. Throughout the season, scientists are invited to engage in a dialogue in which their knowledge and practices are not only shared, but also discussed.
The season is co-produced by the UM's scientific culture services and its partners: INRAE, INSERM and IRD.
