The Résidence(s) croisée(s), created in partnership with the MO.CO. and supported by the DRAC, welcomes Elena Salah this year. After the residency at the FDE-UM in autumn 2022 and the residency at the Florian school in spring 2022, a restitution period in the form of an exhibition of work produced by students from the faculty and pupils from the Florian school will be presented at the Faculty of Education.

This exhibition brings together a collection of traces and imprints from different horizons. It is the observation and practice of a place that generates its memory. From near to far, the memories of places crossed in different places come together. The landscape, through its vegetation and soil, becomes a space of experience and memory. Récits d'Horizons is organized as a collection of multiple testimonies.

Biography

Éléna Salah, born in 1986 in Montreuil, a suburb of Paris, lives and works in Sète. It was in Nantes, where she graduated from the Beaux-Arts, that she began to question sculpture through the photographic image. She then went on to study ceramics at the Haute École d'Art et de Design de Genève (HEAD) in Switzerland. She has exhibited at l'Assaut de la Menuiserie in Saint-Étienne, France, in conjunction with the 2017 Lyon Biennial, and in 2020 at three sites in Villeneuve-lez-Avignon, France, with the Frac Occitanie Montpellier for a solo show. She will carry out a residency in Guyana (Aide à la Création de la DRAC) in 2021/2022.
