The “Résidence(s) croisée(s)” program, created in partnership with MO.CO. and supported by the DRAC, welcomes Elena Salah this year. Following the residency at the FDE-UM in the fall of 2022 and the residency at the École Florian in the spring of 2022, a presentation of the work created by the faculty’s students and the École Florian’s pupils will be held at the Faculty of Education.

This exhibition brings together a collection of traces and imprints from different horizons. It is the observation and experience of a place that shapes its memory. From near to far, memories of places traversed in various locations come together. The landscape, through its vegetation and its soil, becomes a space of experience and remembrance. Récits d’Horizons is organized as a collection of multiple testimonies.

Biography

Éléna Salah, born in 1986 in Montreuil, a suburb of Paris, lives and works in Sète. It was in Nantes, where she earned her degree in Fine Arts, that she developed her artistic approach by exploring sculpture through the photographic image. She enrolled at the Geneva University of Art and Design (HEAD) in Switzerland, where she worked with ceramics. She has exhibited, among other venues, at L’Assaut de la Menuiserie in Saint-Étienne in conjunction with the 2017 Lyon Biennale, and in 2020 at three sites in the city of Villeneuve-lez-Avignon with the Frac Occitanie Montpellier for a solo exhibition. She is undertaking a residency in French Guiana (DRAC Creation Grant) in 2021/2022.
