  • Category: Webinar
  • Dates: March 24, 2023
  • Schedule: 8:45 a.m.
  • Location: video conference

The seminar’s theme addresses recent developments regarding open access publishing: how are universities supporting the implementation of open science to meet both the needs of their research communities and the policy recommendations outlined in the national plan for open science? More specifically, what strategies are they implementing to support open access publishing and bibliodiversity, and with what resources?

Plenary presentations and case studies will provide an overview of the issues and debates currently shaping scientific communities, while also highlighting initiatives undertaken by Professors researchers to place scholarly publishing within a renewed framework for action. These issues and actions raise questions about the role of higher education institutions as political and strategic actors, in the dual context of local policy and national and international strategy.

As a research-intensive university and a major player in open science within the Montpellier academic district, and having been designated an “Atelier de la Donnée,” the University of Montpellier is contributing to the discussion on today’s major challenges through this seminar.
