Open Science: an opportunity to rethink scientific publishing?

  • Category: Webinars

The theme of the seminar is in line with recent developments in open access publishing: how are universities supporting the deployment of open science to meet both the wishes of their research communities and the political recommendations formalized in the national plan for open science? More specifically, what strategies are they putting in place to support open-access publishing and bibliodiversity, and with what resources?

Plenary presentations and feedback will provide an overview of the issues and debates shaking scientific communities today, as well as highlighting the initiatives taken by teacher-researchers and researchers to place scientific publishing within a renewed framework of action. These issues and actions call into question the role of higher education establishments as political and strategic players, in a dual dimension of site policy and national and international strategy.

As a research-intensive university and a major player in open science in the Montpellier academy, with its "data workshop" label, the University of Montpellier is taking part in this seminar to reflect on today's major issues.
