Discussion evening on concussions in sports

Master's students in the RAPA & GESAPPA program (Rehabilitation in Adapted Physical Activities & Health Management through Physical Activity for Older Adults) at the UFR STAPS in Montpellier are organizing an evening discussion on the topic of concussions in sports ahead of Adapted Physical Activities Day (JAPA).
Distinguished guests will be present at this evening event:
- Marc JULIA: physician specializing in physical medicine and rehabilitation, physician for the French rugby sevens team at the Rio Olympic Games, researcher affiliated with the Euromov laboratory, and advisor to the French Hospital Federation for Sports Medicine and Surgery;
- Martin DEVERGIE: professional rugby player for Montpellier Hérault Rugby and selected for the French Barbarians;
- Pierre MARTY GAUBERT: sports massage therapist and physical therapist for the French national karate team;
- Dr. Jean-Pierre GIORDANELLA: public health physician and sponsor of the 2017/2018 Master's degree program in physical activity for health.
During this evening event, you will learn about or deepen your knowledge of concussions, how they occur, and their consequences. High-risk sports, concussion protocols in sports, post-concussion care, and returning to the playing field will be highlighted.
You will have the opportunity to talk with the speakers. A professional rugby player will also be there to share his experience.
