8th Annual Science Film and Visual Media Festival

Sud de Sciences is a science film festival that offers the general public a unique opportunity to watch feature-length science films, followed by discussions with researchers.

The Sud de Sciences Festival is part of the local research community, which is rich and diverse, reflecting the six thousand researchers in Montpellier’s scientific community.

Free of charge, it allows the public to watch exceptional science films on current research topics that address societal issues, focusing on the themes promoted by the I-SITE program of excellence, which brings together researchers from the region to tackle three major challenges: Feeding, Healing, and Protecting.

The screenings provide an opportunity for panel discussions with scientists specializing in the topics covered and guest documentary filmmakers.

Special attention will be given to ensuring the inclusion of deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals at the event on Thursday, December 4, 2025.
