Racism, sexism… what if all of these were intertwined and reinforced one another?
Drawing on real-life examples, Emilia Roig will shed light on the mechanisms of intersectionality and the dynamics that shape our societies. Through her analysis, she will invite participants to shift their perspective, question their assumptions, and grasp the deep interconnections between patriarchy and racism—systems that shape our social realities, often behind the scenes.

Ph.D. in Political Science and author, Emilia Roig is a leading figure in social justice in Europe. After working with organizations such as the UN, GIZ, and Amnesty International, she founded the Center for Intersectional Justice in Berlin in 2017. She teaches at leading universities, including the Hertie School (Berlin) and DePaul University (Chicago), and speaks internationally on feminism, racism, and systemic discrimination. Named “Most Influential Woman of the Year” at the 2022 Impact of Diversity Awards, she is also an Ashoka Fellow.
