Exhibition Village – Ecological Transition Week

Tuesday, October 13, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. – Richter Campus, in front of the MDE Richter.

Thursday, October 15, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. – Triolet Campus, plaza in front of the E. Bataillon entrance.

The booth village is a special space for meeting others, learning, and raising awareness about the challenges of the ecological transition, centered around the nonprofit Le Vieux Biclou, which is offering a workshop on bicycle repair and maintenance. Open to the public, this hands-on, participatory event will allow everyone to get advice and learn best practices for maintaining their bikes, extending their lifespan, and promoting the use of sustainable transportation in everyday life.

Held over the course of two afternoons at the Richter and Triolet campuses, these events will bring together students and staff from the University of Montpellier to discuss the initiatives the university has implemented to support the ecological transition. They provide an opportunity to gain a better understanding of the University’s efforts, to highlight the projects underway on its campuses, and to raise awareness within the university community about the changes needed to build a more sustainable future.

The booth village will thus provide an opportunity to learn, share experiences, and discover different ways to contribute—each in their own way—to the ecological transition, as well as to encourage everyone’s participation and foster a collective momentum toward a sustainable transformation of practices within the University.

The following booths will be set up in the village:

• Le Vieux Biclou: A professional mechanic provides tools and advice to help participants with adjustments, maintenance, and minor repairs.
• Sustainable Development Office – Steering Division: presentation and discussion of the Master Plan for Ecological Transition (SDTE), featuring a quiz on the major themes of the ecological transition.
• Balad’UM: walking tours developed by the “UM ” on the following themes: Biodiversity, Climate, and Carbon; Water Resources; Ecological Transition; and Sustainable Development
• Office of International Relations: ABC in Energy European Project – Promoting behavioral changes in energy consumption.
• Joint Documentation Service: an overview of the various university libraries, as well as their collections of comic books, novels, and infographics related to the ecological transition. The university libraries invite you to explore a selection of books and databases available on the topic of “Mobility.”
• Vélocité: Promoting and raising awareness about cycling to reduce car use.
