12 doctoral contracts, 6 multidisciplinary projects: the IDIL program’s 2025 thesis opportunities are now open
Open since April 8, 2025, the thesis opportunities offered by the University of Montpellier’s IDIL Graduate Program provide access to 12 doctoral contracts distributed across six multidisciplinary research projects. These “mirror projects” combine two distinct disciplinary theses within a single structure, offering a true platform for scientific and institutional innovation.

Each IDIL doctoral contract provides guaranteed funding for three years, ensuring that doctoral students have a stable environment and favorable conditions to conduct ambitious research. The program is built on a strong multidisciplinary foundation, encouraging the integration of diverse approaches, methods, and skills: research is viewed as a collaborative and open-ended endeavor. Finally, doctoral students are part of a broad academic community that brings together the faculties, schools, and institutes of the University of Montpellier, as well as major national organizations such as the CNRS, CIRAD, and Inserm.
Each of these six projects is structured to facilitate collaborative work at the intersection of two disciplinary fields. Among them:
- VEBIOCOL: Development of a bio-based encapsulation vector for the controlled release of molecules in the colon.
- POLLUNOCT: A study of the impact of anthropogenic light pollution on biological rhythms.
- HAPTIMED: a digital twin of haptic perception, applied to healthcare and education.
- OPTIMA: Optimization of RNA modifications for targeted gene expression and RNA-based therapies.
- BIOREACH: Design of remotely accessible cellular bioelectronic systems for autonomous biomedical solutions.
- CHIRARCHEOMS: A study of collagen chirality using mass spectrometry to investigate protein aging in archaeology.
