33rd edition of the Science Festival: dive into an "ocean of knowledge" with the University of Montpellier

From October 4 to 14, the Science Festival returns for its33rd edition with a rich and diverse program under the theme of "an ocean of knowledge." This event allows the public to immerse themselves in the fascinating world of science through free activities, accessible to all in various iconic locations in Montpellier and its surroundings.

An important current issue

This year's theme is a double nod, highlighting the immensity of human knowledge while paying tribute to the mysteries of the ocean, an environment that remains largely unknown, yet is a source of both inspiration and innovation. Visitors will be able to participate in the exploration of this fascinating universe through fun experiences, captivating demonstrations, and exciting discussions with experts.

An exceptional program

The University of Montpellier, coordinator of the event for the eighth consecutive year in the Hérault department, offers a varied program including several highlights:

Montpellier Science Village

On the weekend of October 5 and 6, the Montpellier Faculty of Education (Place Marcel Godechot) will be transformed into a beacon of knowledge, offering activities for all ages. Interactive workshops, demonstrations, experiments, games, and even shows will provide plenty of opportunities to learn about science.

The Living Planet Festival in Saint-Gély-du-Fesc

From October 10 to 13, it will be highlighting environmental sciences through conferences, screenings, and performances to raise public awareness about preserving our planet.

The science festival at Lunaret Zoo

On Saturday, October 12, the city is offering a unique program that is free and open to all, combining research, the environment, and the arts with the observation of resident animals.

The15th-21st Century Water Program

In all of the city's media libraries, numerous scientific and cultural events are planned around water, the source of life, including a special edition of the Science Bar on Thursday, October 10, at the Emile Zola media library, which is not to be missed.
