5 Minutes to Impress: A Contest to Recognize the Best Career Project Presentations by Students at the University of Montpellier

As part of the career development events taking place from January 24 to 27, the Career Services Office (SCUIO-IP) at the University of Montpellier is organizing the “5 Minutes to Convince” competition. The goal is to recognize students who deliver the best presentation of their career plans to a panel of experts from the socio-economic sector and higher education.

Also of note is a conference on entrepreneurship led by Pierre Alzingre, a specialist in startups and entrepreneurship, and Sonia Braun, a certified public accountant, on Thursday, January 27, at 5:30 p.m.

Win computers and project support

The "5 Minutes to Convince" competition gives UM students the opportunity to present their projects to a jury of experts from the professional and academic worlds.

There are 3 categories to enter:

  • the "Career Plans" category as part of a search for an internship or job, plans to continue your education, or international mobility;
  • the "business start-up" category as part of a project to start a business, form an association, or take over an existing business;
  • the "doctoral students" category as part of a postdoctoral application, a research collaboration agreement, a post-doctoral position, etc.

After each presentation, the jury provides feedback to the candidates to help them improve their skills and oral presentation. The prizes include a laptop and dedicated support provided by Hays (in the “career development” category), CPME and PEPITE-LR (in the “business creation” category), and SATT AxLR (in the “doctoral students” category).
