5th edition of Sud de sciences, the science film festival!

Following a preview screening on November 16, from November 23 to 27, the Sud de Sciences festival offers the general public a unique opportunity to watch feature-length scientific films, followed by discussions with researchers.

The "Sud de sciences" festival in a nutshell

Sud de sciences is part of the rich and diverse local research scene, reflecting the 6,000 researchers in Montpellier's scientific community. The films presented have been recently produced and selected by CIRAD, CNRS, INRAE, INSERM, and IRD, all based in Montpellier and its surroundings. This science film festival illustrates a strong shared commitment: to strengthen the relationship between science and society by offering free screenings of science films to as many people as possible, followed by discussions with researchers.

This fifth edition boasts a rich program centered around two categories of films in competition: a professional category and a selection of "student films." Each screening allows the public to freely attend the screening of a short film made by students and a feature-length film from the professional category.

This edition will take place in three cities: Clapiers, Montpellier, and Sète. It is part of the Documentary Month program, a national event initiated by the Ministry of Culture and Communication.
