Doctoral graduation ceremony at the University of Montpellier

On Monday June 26, 2023, the annual graduation ceremony for doctoral students at the University of Montpellier took place at the Corum in Montpellier. This event, central to the university community, brought together all doctoral students in the Pasteur auditorium before the traditional hat-toss and parade through the streets of Montpellier (from the Corum to the Arc de Triomphe).

Opening at 3pm with a coffee reception in the foyer Pasteur.
Ceremony from 4pm, with official speeches, interdisciplinary prize-giving and doctoral school ceremonies until 6:30pm.

After the graduation ceremony, the traditional hat-tossing ceremony took place on the Corum forecourt. The procession of doctoral students then made its way to the Jardin des Plantes, passing through Place de la Comédie and the Arc de Triomphe.

At the end of the day, from 7.30pm, the "Portraits de docteurs" exhibition gave visitors the chance to meet some of the young doctoral students who have successfully defended their university theses in the 2021-2022 academic year. The exhibition will be shown in the presence of illustrator Elsa Gabet and photographer Gabriel Fradin.
