Doctoral degree award ceremony at the University of Montpellier
On Monday, June 26, 2023, the annual graduation ceremony honoring doctoral students from the University of Montpellier took place at the Corum in Montpellier. This event, which is central to the academic community, brought together all doctoral students in the Pasteur Auditorium before the traditional hat toss and parade through the streets of Montpellier (from the Corum to the Arc de Triomphe).

Doors open at 3 p.m. with coffee served in the Pasteur foyer.
The formal ceremony begins at 4 p.m., with speeches by officials, the presentation of interdisciplinary awards, and the doctoral school ceremony, lasting until 6:30 p.m.
After the graduation ceremony, the traditional hat throwing took place on the forecourt of the Corum. The procession of doctoral students then made its way to the Jardin des Plantes, passing through the Place de la Comédie and the Arc de Triomphe.
At the end of the day, starting at 7:30 p.m., the exhibition "Portraits of Doctors" gave visitors the opportunity to meet some young doctoral students who successfully defended their university theses during the 2021-2022 academic year. The exhibition will be open to the public in the presence of illustrator Elsa Gabet and photographer Gabriel Fradin.
