Why hold an Innovation after-work event at UM?

The University of Montpellier is the top French university in the global ranking of universities making the greatest efforts to advance science, invent new technologies, and help support the growth of the global economy (2019 Reuters ranking). It is also one of five pilot universities in a university innovation cluster (PUI). The after-work event is an opportunityto exchange ideas and meet people, to highlight UM's strategy in terms of innovation and partnership, to present its latest success stories, and to discuss future challenges. It will include the traditional Innovation Awards ceremony for researchers, lecturers, and Professors have distinguished themselves by developing innovative ideas that open up new economic, technological, or societal avenues.

Finally, this after-work event will provide an opportunity to arrange meetings with PUI experts on important issues, such as "how to promote a project" and "what avenues for collaboration/partnerships are possible," and to offer advice on starting a business.

The Innovation Awards in a nutshell

The "Montpellier University Innovation Awards," launched in March 2019, aim to highlight researchers, Professors, teacher-researchers, and staff from institutions and organizations within the I-SITE consortium who are at the heart of particularly innovative initiatives and projects, especially in terms of their expected impact.
