Hats off to the doctors!

On June 17, the doctoral graduation ceremony was held at the University of Montpellier. Of the 553 graduates from the class of 2023, 236 new PhDs came to receive their diplomas in person on stage at the Corum… Before parading, accompanied by a marching band, through the city streets and heading to the Jardin des Plantes for an evening celebration attended by family and friends. A look back in photos.

The Wait

The doctoral graduation ceremony was set to begin at 4:00 p.m., but as early as 2:00 p.m., many of the new doctoral graduates were already gathered in the Corum lobby. It was an opportunity to have coffee with former colleagues or chat with their thesis advisors.

The ceremony

A total of 236 young doctors, accompanied by their families, took part in this graduation ceremony. For nearly three hours, speeches and photo sessions followed one another, interspersed with a few skits performed by Collecthihihif!

The Fashion Show

After leaving the Corum, the doctors and the audience joined together in a large, festive procession that wound its way from the Esplanade Charles de Gaulle to the Jardin des Plantes, passing through the Place de la Comédie and the Arc de Triomphe. The whole procession was accompanied by the sound of a marching band.

An Evening in the Garden

Starting at 7:30 p.m., the 600 guests enjoyed an evening in the Garden and a buffet provided by the University and prepared by the caterer Grand.
