“There’s Still Time,” a selection of short films by students from the Faculty of Education at the Carcassonne campus

Throughout the 2024–2025 academic year, students and staff at the Carcassonne campus of the Faculty of Education watched, discussed, and selected nine short films that explore environmental challenges as part of a workshop led by the KOVisuel association. On Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at 8:00 p.m., the selected films will be screened at the CGR-Le Colisée cinema in Carcassonne during an evening hosted by the students and staff who participated in the workshop.

A "Short Film Production" Workshop

From November 2024 to March 2025, 15 students and staff members from the Faculty of Education at the Carcassonne campus participated in a workshop on curating short films on the theme of cultural diversity. Each month, Jacob Redman from the film education association KOVisuel provided them with a shortlist of short films. The participants analyzed, discussed, and defended their favorites, listened to everyone’s arguments, and reached a consensus to propose a rich and varied final selection to present to the general public.

A theme: environmental challenges

How can we tackle environmental challenges? Whether through humor, seriousness, or poetry, the short films presented here aim to shift our perspectives and inspire us to take action. From fiction and documentaries to animated films, these eclectic works highlight issues, propose solutions, and encourage reflection.

A screening at the CGR-Le Colisée movie theater

Just as in 2023 and 2024 with “C’est quoi ton genre?” and “D’où je viens, où je vais,” the CGR-Le Colisée cinema is once again hosting this project organized by the University of Montpellier’s Art & Culture Department. This event on April 8, 2025, open to everyone at a flat rate of €5, will be hosted by the students and staff who participated in the workshop throughout the year. They will present their selections and lead a discussion following the screening.
