Montpellier-Nîmes Faculty of Medicine and Hérault Women Entrepreneurs (FCE34) celebrate International Women's Rights Day

On March 8, 2024, the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Montpellier and the President of the association "Femmes Cheffes d'Entreprises de l'Hérault" will join forces to celebrate International Women's Rights Day. The conference will highlight the careers of several women with extraordinary profiles.

Woman or exceptional trajectory, which does the other?

  • Gwenaëlle Gervalais, content editor, editorial consultant and member of the FCE34, will host a conference at 7:30pm for journalists and students from the University of Montpellier on the careers of exceptional women, followed by readings.
  • Novelist Caroline Fabre Rousseau will shed light on the life of Glafira Ziegelmann, the first female medical intern and first candidate for a professorship in Montpellier, accompanied by third-year medical student Vlada Liashchenko.
  • Sandrine Bignoli, artisan saddler, founder of Atelier Sellerie Générale, and President of the FCE Hérault delegation, has found new markets to counter the seasonal nature of her primary activity.
  • Agathe Boidin, President of Pacific Pêche, who has made the transition from children's clothing to fishing enthusiasts, has turned the brand around and developed it further, drawing on her knowledge of the retail sector.
  • Astrid Herrero, PUPH in Digestive Surgery at Montpellier University Hospital, specializing in liver transplants, is behind an innovative and unique teaching project to prepare students for the operating theatre.
  • Stéphanie Nougaret, Associate Professor in Medical Imaging, winner of a grant from the European Research Council, enabling her to set up and fund a new research team at the Montpellier Cancer Institute, combining medical imaging and artificial intelligence for optimized early detection of gynecological cancers.
  • Gérald Chanques, PUPH anesthesiologist at Montpellier University Hospital and vice-dean for general affairs, heritage and campus life at the Montpellier-Nîmes Faculty of Medicine, and Simon de Charentenay, lawyer, lecturer and founder of Axiocap, agreed to accompany them and share a moment of exchange.
