DeepTech tour in Montpellier

On September 13, 2023, Bpi France has chosen the University of Montpellier as the first stop on its DeepTech Tour 2023. This tour is part of the French government's deeptech plan, operated by Bpifrance, which aims to help 500 startups emerge from research laboratories each year to become the technology leaders of tomorrow. The UM is the first of 29 PUI-certified universities to host this event.

"We're delighted that the launch is taking place at the University of Montpellier; it shows BPI France' s interest in the Montpellier site and its role as leader of the University Innovation Cluster," said Philippe Combette, vice-president in charge of partnerships and innovation at the UM.

Around 250 people gathered at the Jardin des Plantes, including researchers, post-docs and innovation players. The event was attended by Philippe Augé, President of the University of Montpellier; Paul-François Fournier, Director of Innovation at BPI France; partners of the Montpellier PUI, who presented their support solutions; the Initium incubator team, who came to present its PEPITE DeepTech program; and project leaders, such as Jullien Drone , winner of the Prix de l'Innovation 2023, who came to talk about their experiences.
