The "AdNatura" National Trade Fair for Ecology and Biodiversity Professionals, organized in collaboration with the University of Montpellier
The first edition of “AdNatura” will take place from October 27 to 29 at the Montpellier Exhibition Center. This event is organized by the Salon de l’Écologie (SdE) association, under the patronage of the French Office for Biodiversity (OFB), in collaboration with the University of Montpellier, the Occitanie Region, the Occitanie Regional Biodiversity Agency, the City of Montpellier, and Montpellier Méditerranée Métropole, as well as the Professional Union of Ecological Engineering (UPGE). For its 2022 edition, the fair will host the second Occitanie Regional Biodiversity Conference, dedicated this year to the theme of “living soils,” as well as the Forum of the Occitanie Regional Biodiversity Agency.
The AdNatura Fair in a Nutshell
Since its inception in 2009, having spawned numerous success stories, this event has been recognized and appreciated for its interdisciplinary nature. The year 2021 marked a new milestone in its evolution, as it became the National Trade Show for Ecology and Biodiversity Professionals (AdNatura).
AdNatura brings together, connects, and showcases all stakeholders in France’s professional ecology and biodiversity sector through a Professional Forum featuring exhibits, conferences, roundtables, workshops, business meetings, and job-matching events. Engineers, technicians, researchers, and managers: professionals from all backgrounds will come together for this event, which will bring together all organizations and stakeholders committed to the ecological transition and biodiversity conservation, both private and public (companies, associations, public institutions, local governments, intermunicipal bodies, government agencies, etc.). Beyond a shared heritage to be preserved and a promising professional sector, biodiversity is the source of sustainable innovations to drive and succeed in the ecological transition that will lead us to sustainable human development. To illustrate this, each year, AdNatura will highlight a timely and forward-looking theme through its conferences, workshops, and roundtables.
The 2022 edition focuses on "living soils"
A key issue and central objective of European policy—from the adoption of the European Parliament’s resolution on April 28, 2021, to its “Farm to Fork” strategy—the preservation, protection, and restoration of soils represent a challenge for all stakeholders in France’s professional ecology and biodiversity sector. Zero net land take, preserving greenhouse gas sequestration and sustainable food production functions, maintaining their capacity to support ecosystems, restoring degraded soils, and studying their structure and functioning—all these pressing and highly relevant topics, which are crucial to our shared future, are explored in the rich program of conferences and roundtables at the AdNatura Fair.
The annual event showcasing careers and training programs in ecology and biodiversity
AdNatura enables high school students, college students, recent graduates, and anyone seeking a career change to learn about jobs and employers in the ecology and biodiversity sector in France through a career and training fair featuring booths, conferences, roundtables, workshops, and job-matching events. Educational institutions offering programs leading to careers as technicians, engineers, and researchers will be represented in all their diversity and complementarity: BTS, Professional Bachelor’s Degrees, Engineering Schools, Master’s Programs, Doctoral Schools…
AdNatura is open to everyone and free to visit (no registration required, free admission).
