OREME's Short Lectures at the University of Montpellier

The Montpellier Environmental Research Observatory (OREME) is hosting a series of short, multidisciplinary lectures aimed at raising awareness and fostering discussion on the issue of climate change. OREME’s short lectures are open to the public and feature experts in environmental, earth, and planetary sciences. On Monday, June 26, 2023, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on the Triolet campus, the University of Montpellier will host a lecture titled “A Society Built on Sand: Digital Technology, an Immaterial Force with Real Impact.” It will be presented by Didier Mallarino, a research engineer at the CNRS.

On Monday, June 26, he will share his insights with the scientific community and the general public to step back, identify environmental and societal impacts together, and recognize the various obstacles we face in order to avoid taking counterproductive measures.
