Les Rendez-vous de l’Eco: A lecture on the topic: “Inflation: Are We Heading Toward a Lasting Resurgence of Inflation?” at the School of Economics

As part of the “Rendez-vous de l’Eco” series, the Faculty of Economics at the University of Montpellier, in partnership with Midi Libre, is hosting a conference on the topic: “Inflation: Are We Heading Toward a Lasting Resurgence of Inflation?” on October 18, 2022, starting at 6:30 p.m., at the Faculty of Economics.

Why this conference?

“The resurgence of inflation observed in France and around the world has been fueled by recent health and geopolitical disruptions. It is further exacerbated by the consequences of the climate transition and its impact on the scarcity and rising costs of raw materials, as well as by supply chain disruptions stemming from the health crisis. Under these circumstances, is the resurgence of inflation cyclical in nature, or, on the contrary, is it taking on a more structural character?”

To address this question, our speaker, Bruno CABRILLAC, Deputy Director General for Statistics, Research, and International Affairs at the Banque de France, will analyze the causes of current inflation and the outlook for the short and medium term.

Presenter: Olivier BISCAYE, Editor-in-Chief of Midi Libre.
Speaker: Bruno CABRILLAC, Deputy Director General for Statistics, Research, and International Affairs at the Banque de France
