Les Rendez-vous de l’Eco: A conference on the topic “Corporate Financing in a Time of Crisis” at the School of Economics

As part of the “Rendez-vous de l’Eco” series, the University of Montpellier’s School of Economics, in partnership with Midi Libre, is organizing a conference on the topic “Corporate Financing in a Time of Crisis” on October 12, 2023, starting at 6:30 p.m., at the School of Economics’ Richter Campus.

Why this conference?

The COVID-19 health crisis plunged the economy into a severe recession in 2020, which affected businesses’ operations and financial structures. Businesses must now contend with the consequences of a major energy and inflation crisis. In this context, what is the current situation for businesses? How is bank financing evolving? Are banks also being impacted by this series of challenges?

Speaker

Frédéric Visnovsky

As the National Credit Ombudsman at the Banque de France, Frédéric Visnovsky played a central role in managing the COVID-19 crisis, particularly by overseeing and implementing a comprehensive plan to assist and support businesses facing financing difficulties with their banks. He chairs the Business Financing Observatory, which brings together representatives from businesses, banks, and statistical agencies to produce reports on the state of businesses and their financing. In addition to these roles, Frédéric Visnovsky also serves as Deputy Secretary General of the Prudential Supervision and Resolution Authority (ACPR), where he is responsible for resolution efforts aimed at preparing banks and insurers to withstand severe crises.
