"I want to work in nutrition in developing countries".

[ Would you like to introduce yourself in a few words? ] - My name is Tom Do Van Lanh, and I was born in Villeneuve-Saint-Georges in the 94 region, near Paris. I came to Montpellier to do this training because I want to work in nutrition in developing countries, a specificity of this training that is not offered elsewhere.

"I love food above all else! Preparing, cooking and above all tasting!"

[ Your passions? Your hobbies? ] - There are lots of them! I love sport, especially athletics, which I practice in the athletics club MA2M - Montpellier Athletic Méditerranée MétropoleI do short sprints, I love the sensations this sport gives me and it relaxes me after class. I like to read manga and watch Japanese anime, thanks to my older brother. And of course, in line with my training, I love food above all else! Preparing, cooking and, above all, tasting!

"Continuity in my training, enabling me to broaden my skills".

[ Your studies ] - I'm currently studying for a professional degree in Nutrition and Human Food at theIUT de Montpellier. Before that, I did a BTS in Dietetics in the Paris region before entering the Licence Pro (you can also do it with a DUT in Bio Engineering, option Dietetics). It's a continuation of my training and enables me to broaden my skills in the fields of management, clinical research, food education, prevention...

"With Blabla'plat, I offer tutorials on sustainable food".

[ To help students with their daily diet, you took part in the Blabla'plat project. Blabla what? ] - Blabla'plat is a series of videos produced by students in our program. It aims to help students with their day-to-day eating habits on 4 themes that we have chosen:

> comparing industrial and home-cooked dishes,
> cooking with leftovers,
> using the microwave
> cooking with fruit and vegetables.

These videos were created as part of an interventional research project on the theme of "sustainable foodsupervised by Virginie Masdoua, our project tutor. The project was financed by the Fonds Français pour l'Alimentation Santé and supported by various partners, including the DRAAF, ARS Languedoc-Roussillon and the Service Universitaire de Médecine Préventive et de Promotion de la Santé.

"In dietetics, breakfast is a must!"

[ Your typical day ] - In the morning, I wake up to a compulsory breakfast (especially as a dieter!): fruit juice, yoghurt and slices of fresh bread with jam.
I'm off to the starting blocks on my bike to catch the streetcar, and then it's off to an intense day of classes. Lunch timed at the IUT cafeteria, then when classes end at 6 p.m., 3 times a week, we go to the Stade Phillipidès for an athletics (and lactic) session...
In the evening, we come back, eat a warm meal in front of a good TV series and of course, work!

"The BU... DVDs of recent films and series that you can borrow, and I'm all for that."

[ Your favorite place at university? ] - The BU on the Triolet campus, it's a big space, with lots of bibliographic resources and even DVDs of recent films and TV series that you can borrow, and I'm all for that!

"The Jardin des plantes, one of the most beautiful, especially when the sun comes out".

[ Your favorite place in Montpellier? ] - Le jardin des plantes boulevard Henri IV, one of the most beautiful gardens I've ever visited, very pleasant, especially when the sun comes out, with a wide variety of plants I didn't know about.
