Innovation in Occitanie: what strategy for Montpellier? 

The next Montpellier University after-work event will take place on Monday, July 8, starting at 6 p.m. at the Jardin des Plantes, with UM President Philippe Augé in attendance. The evening will feature debates, testimonials, experience sharing, and several round tables bringing together key players in the field of innovation. This ceremony will also be the focus of various discussions and meetings on the innovation and partnership policy of the University of Montpellier and its partners.

The complete program for the 2024 innovation after-work event

The evening will begin at 6 p.m. with the opening of the after-work event by UM President Philippe Augé, followed by a debate with Philippe Combette, UM Vice President of Partnerships and Innovation, and Anne-Lise Melki, Managing Director of Biotope. The debate Research roundtable discussions moderated by News Tank Education & Research . Alexandra Prieux, president of Alcediag, will conclude the discussions.

Why hold an Innovation after-work event at UM?

The University of Montpellier is the top French university in the global ranking of universities making the greatest efforts to advance science, invent new technologies, and help support the growth of the global economy (Reuters 2019 ranking). It is also one of five universities in a university innovation cluster (PUI). The after-work event is one of the PUI's initiatives, an annual gathering of researchers, businesses, partners, and local authorities to discuss innovation, promotion, partnerships, and entrepreneurship, during which the Innovation Awards are presented to the winners.
