"What is CommOCEAN 2022?

CommOCEAN is a major international meeting organized by the Communication Panel of the EMB(European Marine Board) every two years, at a specific venue in a different location. In 2022, this will be the fifth edition of this meeting. CommOcean is aimed at all professionals and experts in scientific communication and mediation on the oceans.

CommOCEAN 2022 aims to create a strong community of marine science communication professionals from around the world, and to inspire inventive and effective communication of marine science within the scientific community, as well as to the general public, governments and decision-makers. The meeting features a wide range of marine science communication leaders, presentations and workshops covering communication techniques and platforms, as well as examples of marine science research communication campaigns. The event will also include conferences on current projects in this field.

CommOCEAN 2022 is aimed at scientists, as well as experts in scientific communication/mediation about the oceans. The mission of this international meeting is to share and offer skills and inspiration, drawing on a wide range of expertise. It also features numerous sessions of interest to the widest possible audience, some of which will run in parallel and are designed for participants who wish either to develop new communication skills or increase their level of expertise.
