The University of Montpellier partners with the Olympic torch relay
In May, daily life at the University was punctuated by the Olympic torch relay in Montpellier and Perpignan, where members of our community were able to participate in the relay as torchbearers, as well as in the UM Olympics, organized by the SUAPS, on the campus of the Faculty of Pharmacy.
The Olympic torch relay first stopped at Philipidès Stadium for an afternoon of sports activities and celebrations attended by many schools in the region. During these activities, children had the opportunity to try out disabled sports under the watchful eye of President Philippe Augé, which was a great way to raise their awareness of the challenges of disability in sport and the achievements of para-athletes.

On May 16, the Olympic flame arrived in Perpignan, accompanied by our torchbearers Amal Qobaa and Paloma Pozzati for a relay that will leave a lasting memory in their minds.

Finally, the University Olympics, organized by SUAPS, brought this month of Olympic values to a close with an afternoon of competition between numerous teams made up of UM students, playing tennis, padel, and soccer on the campus of the Faculty of Pharmacy.
